My Experience at the Arizona Science Center
I recently had the privilege to go to the Arizona Science Center in Phoenix, Arizona. There were three new exhibits. One was called “Get Charged Up” which is about physics. Another new exhibit was called “My Digital World” which involves technology. The last exhibit was called “Forces of Nature” which is all about hurricanes, waves, weather, etc.
“Get Charged Up” was my personal favorite exhibit! There were many interactive things to explore. One of the many amazing things that you could do was “What Conducts Electricity”. This had tubes with things that do conduct electricity and those who don’t. Another was “Pulley Power” which was where you sit down on a seat, buckle yourself in and pull your way to the top! You could also lay on a bed of nails! There was a big bed looking object that you got on and then you pushed a button so the nails would come up from inside the bed. It raised you up and you couldn’t even feel it!
“My Digital World”, the second new exhibit, is all about technology and the internet. At the “My Digital World” exhibit you could warp your image. You sit in front of a computer screen and it takes a picture of you. Then, you press different buttons and it warps your image. You could also make music with lights. You pressed a button to choose whether you wanted to hear animal sounds, human sounds or instruments. There were many other different things that you could see and do at this exhibit.
The last exhibit I would like to tell you about is the “Forces of Nature” exhibit. At this exhibit you could do everything from play in the sand with water to learn how water shapes land, to feeling like you are in the middle of a tornado or a hurricane with the help of a 4 dimensional movie. This exhibit really taught me a lot about the “Forces of Nature!”
I would recommend the Arizona Science Center for anyone who likes to have fun, learn a lot and be amazed! The Arizona Science Center is a truly amazing place!
