What it's like being a Cougar at Codington Elementary School
Codington isn't just some "ordinary school". There are tons of exciting things that we get to do, but there are just some things I would like to point out.
One things that sets Codington apart from ordinary is that instead of calling buses by numbers that you have to memorize, we use colors such as orange, blue, and brown. That way it is easier to listen for your bus being dismissed.
We also get to call art, music, P.E., computer lab, and library by the fun name of "Specials". During every school day we have a special somewhere in our schedule.
There are also some other reasons I love going to Codington.
Out of all of the awesome things we get to do at Codington there are some simple things I like. Creating a project is an assignment that kids like me enjoy. In almost every class sometime during the year we are assigned an "at home" project. Although it might not sound like fun having to do some work at home, all of the projects are actually fun to do. I like to put together projects because I get to be spontaneous and creative.
Another activity most kids love is the field trips, especially the big end of the year field trip. The one I enjoyed the most was going to Star Base which was a program where 5th graders got to learn all about science. At the end of the "Star Base Week" we had made rockets and were ready to launch them. Everyone comes out to watch and have a good time.
Like I said before Codington is an awesome school and everyone has a wonderful time working with all the teachers and staff.
